A 60-game regular season, followed by a 16-team post-season, is anything but ordinary, but that’s very on-brand for an extraordinary year.
For reasons not in any way clear, MLB and the Players Association have decided at the very last minute to change the post-season structure for the shortened 2020 season.
The number of teams that will make the play-offs is going to increase from 10 to 16, just in case this season wasn’t going to be random enough already.

The Oakland A’s reinstated RHP Daniel Mengden from the 60-day IL, placed LHP A.J. Puk on the 10-day IL and optioned C Jonah Heim to their alternate site.
