A’s Schedule: Week beginning 2 May

The A’s hit a road-bump over the weekend with the Cleveland Guardians ending a seven-game losing streak by sweeping us up over three games at the Coliseum. It’s the sort of thing that can happen in any season, but especially in a development season such as the A’s are undertaking.

Our Series Review video is now available on our YouTube channel:

There will be good and bad stretches along the way. The important thing is for the team to not get too high or too low and you suspect that no one knows that better than manager Mark Kotsay.

A new week is a new opportunity to get back to winning ways. The A’s will begin that by finishing up the home-stand with three games against the Rays before heading to Minnesota for three games against the Twins.

Tampa Bay Rays (H)

Probable pitching match-ups:

Game 1: Daulton Jefferies – Drew Rasmussen

Game 2: Paul Blackburn – Ryan Yarbrough

Game 3: Frankie Montas – Corey Kluber

The A’s won three out of four at Tropicana Field a couple of weeks ago and will be looking to build on that in this home series. Daulton Jefferies had his first shaky outing of the season last time out against the Giants, so he will be hoping to get back to some good form in a week when he is scheduled to have two starts.

Minnesota Twins (A)

Probable pitching match-ups:

Game 1: Cole Irvin – Sonny Gray

Game 2: James Kaprielian – Chris Paddack

Game 3: Daulton Jefferies – Joe Ryan

Most of the games over the coming weekend are free to watch on MLB.com and that includes all three games of the A’s-Twins series. The opener should see former Oakland ace Sonny Gray matching up with Cole Irvin.
