After an off-day on Monday, the A’s begin a nine-game home-stand at the Coliseum.
Season record so far: A’s lead 2-0
The action starts on Tuesday with the second half of a weird four-game Interleague Series that you get one or two of per season. The A’s won both of the two games at Chase Field in mid-April and now the D-Backs come to Oakland for another mini two-game series.
The Snakes are having a shocker of a season so far, ‘battling’ it out with the Baltimore Orioles for the worst record in the Majors. It’s definitely a series that the A’s need to take advantage of and to get this home-stand off to a positive start. The projected pitching match-ups are as follows:
Gm1. Chris Bassitt v Jon Duplantier
Gm2. Sean Manaea v Matt Peacock
The Wednesday game is perfect to watch in all ways from a British perspective: it starts at 20.37, is available on UK TV on BT Sport and is also available to everyone to watch for free online as the MLB.TV Free Game Of The Day.
Kansas City (H)
Season record so far: Teams yet to play each other
We then dive straight into a four-game series against Kansas City. The rebuilding Royals have had a good start to their season and head into the week with a winning record; however, they’ve been dealt a blow this past weekend when shortstop Adalberto Mondesi headed to the Injured List with a left hamstring strain.
The projected pitching match-ups are as follows:
Gm1. Frankie Montas v Mike Minor
Gm2. Cole Irvin v Brady Singer
Gm3. James Kaprielian v Ervin Santana
Gm4. Chris Bassitt v Kris Bubic
