A’s Schedule This Week: 19th April

Tuesday double-header after Monday’s game was postponed

Version number 2!

The A’s original schedule for the week was disrupted by the Twins undergoing intensive Covid testing following three players and one staff member testing positive. The scheduled game for Monday was postponed to let the group stay where they were before the results were processed and thankfully no additional cases were found.

Consequently today (Tuesday) we have what is confusingly being referred to as a ‘traditional’ double-header, which means that the games are being played back-to-back, rather than a day-game then a night-game (the games are not ‘traditional’ in the sense that they are reduced to seven innings each). That means the earlier game will begin at 3.30pm local time, so a 23.30 start for us and not really a change that gifts us any additional live A’s baseball at a convenient time.

Fear not, as currently the game on Wednesday is still scheduled to be a day-game and a 20:37 start time in the UK.

We then have Thursday off before heading to Baltimore. Sunday’s game introduces us to the world of being a UK-based fan of an east coast team. Whilst they think supporting a west coast team is difficult, a game at 6pm seems far too early. We’ll take it just this once, though.
