Game 6: The search for the missing A’s bats goes on

The A’s ended their 6-game home-stand to start the 2020 season with a 6-1 loss to the Colorado Rockies.

A 3-3 home-stand is slightly disappointing after winning the opening part 3-1 over the Angels. We’ve struggled against the Colorado Rockies before and in some ways perhaps we should be glad that this latest series against them only lasted two games.

I had hoped that keeping score for Wednesday’s game would bring the A’s some luck. That didn’t materialise – in fact we got no luck at all in the game, not least when Oly was wrongly called out at the plate and the replay review somehow upheld the decision; however, it did give me the opportunity to go through my scorecard for our latest YouTube video.

In the circumstances you have to think that the day-off today has come at a good time. The hitters need to clear their heads and regroup so that they come out firing in Seattle this weekend.

It’s a four-game series and, as explained in the video, the Sunday contest is a 21.10 start in the UK. If you’d like to watch along with us on Zoom, just get in contact via our Twitter account.
